0 Beside a 3

A 0 next to a 3 settles the 3 outright: the shared edge is blank, so the 3's other three sides are all lines.

How it works

  1. 1The 0 has already crossed off all four of its own sides — including the one it shares with the 3.
  2. 2That leaves the 3 three usable sides and it needs exactly three, so draw its top, bottom and far side. The cell is settled outright.
  3. 3This one is a shortcut for the eye, not a new deduction: a hint will call it Zero Clue and then Clue Satisfied, because those two always reach it. Learn it anyway — scanning for every 0 first, then looking at what it touches, is the fastest opening in the game.
